If you ventured to a certain dark warehouse basement in September 2008, you would have found a collection of talented makeup and hair artists directed by the memorable Sammm Agnew...small mountains of darkly colourful hair scattered liberally awaiting to be used (and abused)...corsets, latex, leather kilts, vintage hats and various assemblances of fetish toys piled high out of antique suitcases...A group of enthusiastic and beautiful fans of Festival of Sins were in the midst of being transformed to our cover models for the day.
The enthusiasm and decadence of those scattered around the warehouse floor was quite remarkable given it was 8am on a Saturday morning.
The models delved into the treasure troves of clothing and toys at various intervals, bemusing the neighbours as they stood outside on their cigarette breaks, in mile high hair, couture makeup, and seductively deviant clothing.
Throughout the several hours of the photo shoot, the air swirled with debauched antics, the consummation of food with wanton abandon in between the shine of latex and clatter of buckles, and liberal doses of sinful humour...we think we caused a bemused raised and eyebrow or two from the photographer, Victor Kurzweil. If you look carefully, some photos feature Lustreality's fetish bedding and toy rack above her wrought iron bed.
The results are gorgeous photos which you will see on Festival of Sins and StripLite websites, flyers and posters in 2008/9. The flyers and posters were indeed launched at the XPo 2008, to much excitement.
Many Thanks to the designers, makeup and hair artists, and our supportive Sinners, for their hard work to create such decadent visual treats. Watch out for the photo of each new deadly sin in the coming months.
Watch this space next year for news of our Photoshoot 2009, if you too would like to be a part of our unorthodox photo adventures.
Love and licks,
Lustreality and Nathan Shame
